Poet to Poet: An Interview with John Rezmerski

Usually when we see interviews of poets it's done in a conventional journalism format. Question and response. And rarely do we see journalists ask questions that reflect a real familiarity with poetry and poets. Or else, they're so academic, they're unreadable.

Ezra Pound is famous for his quip, "poetry is news that stays news." When poets interview poets, I've begun to question why we aren't interviewing each other truly as poets.

So, for the last few months, I've been interviewing Minnesota poets through the format of poetry to see what would happen. John C. Rezmerski, an amazing Minnesota poet, particularly in the field of speculative poetry, graciously agreed to be interviewed using this method, and the result is now up at the Twin Cities Daily Planet.

Enjoy!
